Baby bottles for ducklings?

Something like this just make sure they can't climb into it and if you have more than 2 or 3 you would want to put cut outs on both sides.

First, welcome to Duckburg! - Ducks and Ducklings are way different than Chicken and chicks! From an early age on Duckies are »Masters of the Mess«: They poop in the water, then bathe in it before they drink it, food must be spreaded all over the broader, walked upon, flung into the water (yeah that water) before it is eaten.
Best is to get a small (½-1 gallon) poultry waterers and a small poultry feeder for the beginning. Place both on top of a hardware cloth covered pan (baking pan, rabbit pan,…) so if the babies spill food and water it won't end up in the bedding. Before i learned that i was changing the bedding (pine shavings) every day and it still stank!
When the ducklings are older (1++ Month) keep their food and their water as far away from their bed as possible.

Good idea! - Unless you have little rascals who have learned to topple those containers over and then try to bathe in the spill. One day my ducklings looked like unfinished wooden ducks, all the shavings were sticking to their down.

I put large river stones in the bottom to keep them from tipping them over. That is a hilarious visual though unfinished wooden ducks. and I do put mine on top of a pan to catch excess water.

I actually used a one gallon Orange juice bottle as their first bathtub. Just cut a hole 2-3" from the bottom, large enough to let a duckling through and fill it with water. My stupid phone was not working at that time, otherwise i would have recorded an Orange Juice bottle with an »Orange« inside bouncing up and down, it looked hilarious and the bedding stayed dry - mostly - unless six ducklings tried to get into that bottle at once…

Ducks will always find their way to make a mess! Mine found out today, that if they splash enough water out of their pool, the ground gets wet and they can dig their infamous bill-holes…

If you can find a broiler pan at a thrift store or you have one your not using the water container can be placed on top of that. Just make sure the broiler is safe for tiny little webs.

I used a old cake pan last year for my bigger ducklings. This year I brooded outside so they had dog pans.
