I've had my pullets just over a week, and they haven't been particularly keen on hanging out with me. Today was [finally] warm, so we went outside for some sunshine. I put them in the kiddie pool while I pulled weeds, and did some basic yard maintenance...as I wandered around the yard and found things that I thought would interest them, I'd throw it in their play-pen; a snail, a handful of cut grass, dandelion leaves, a worm. It didn't take long until when I approached the pool they would come scampering up to see what new thing I had brought for them....

Tonight I layed on the floor and took them out for some exercise; generally when I do this they scamper away from me and wander around the living room. Tonight after a few seconds of adventuring they came up one by one and jumped up on me and all four snuggled in with me! I think it must've been the worm - they ripped that thing apart in about two seconds - so now they think I'm cool....FUN!

COngrats! Its cool when your finally viewed as cool by your chicks. Mine decided they liked me when I started feeding them bread crusts. They come running but I only have one who really loves me. (im her favorite perch)

Its amazing how different their personalities are. I have several chicks of different ages growing up in The Basement Brothel and 10 more full grown. They all have individual characteristics and its fun to see which babies will like you just because, others that only oike you when you have treats, and those that don't like you no matter what.

Of course, everyone has their favorites. Mine, right now, are my full grown EE, who will perch to wait for me to come love her. My alltime fav, Austrolorpe, who follows me around the yard waiting for worms and comes when I call her. My new fav, a little oegb, who wants attention no matter what, and a little buff brahma, who is turning out to be very sweet.
