I finally got to peek at the 6 baby bunnies that my newest girl had on Sunday. They're SO cute!!

Dad is Broken Black
Mom is Black

I have No idea what their breeds are but when i was checking out the babies i noticed there are Tri-Colored babies!!

they look liek they're going to be SO gorgeous! There's 1 that looks mostly orange and i am beyond excited to see how they turn out when they start to get their fur in more. There is also 1 Black one with 2 white socks in the front, so stinkin adorable..

I will get pics up as soon as i find my camera cord!

ETA: I forgot to mention that I bred my tri-color meaty girl to my tri color buck yesterday(left her in all night)..I'm pretty excited to see what they'll 'create' too!

) but I just cant resist baby bunnies. Hey Bleenie I how long do you have to wait till your able to touch and hold the babies without the mom killing them? Ive always wondered about that.

I was REALLY worried about touching them right away. I wore gloves the first time & they were 3 days old. she just gets in and covers them back up afterwards. for as jumpy and scared as momma is she is a really good mother.

ETA: actually i used the wooden, blunt end of a knitting needle to move the fur after they were born so i could get a head count, lol.

Forgive me for butting in here, but the answer to your question is, if the doe is properly accustomed to being handled, it isn't a problem. I "kitnapped" this litter, nestbox and all, about 2 hours after they were born for this picture:

The only problem was getting the shot before they all disappeared! As quickly as I could get them uncovered and point the camera at them, they dug themselves back under the fur.

Here they are yesterday, at 9 day old:

(These are Mini Rex babies, in case you were wondering.)

Bleenie, your babies are precious! Who'd-a-thunk there was a harlie gene hiding in there, eh?

Thank you bunnylady! I couldn't remember the name for the coloring! i was supposed to get a harlequin colored doe form someone but she is basically wild & been loose for a while. glad i got one in this bunch but it's got a pretty fat head so i dunno if its gonna be a girl or not. Those babies of yours are gonna be so pretty! i love the red color.
