Baby button has a swollen foot...any ideas?

My baby button has a swollen foot, it was all curled up and had allot of growths on the foot, then I placed it between two pieces of tape for a day to help straighten out the foot. Then when I put baby back in with dad and mom, they started peeking the growths off. But then the foot it looks like got infected, now what to do?

Sorry, I can't really tell, it looks pretty nasty in the picture. Does it still have its toes? I know absolutely nothing about baby buttons, if it were mine, I would probably isolate and keep neosporin or gentian violet on it. They will probably kill it pecking at it, you know how quail are with blood. Maybe someone else will wake up and get on here for you.
