I have 2 pigs to show for 4-H this year one of them is a spot barrow named Puddles and my second one is a hampshire gilt named Sparkles she is a breeding gilt they both walk pretty good for me not perfect yet but getting better every time I walk them. I am also training my sisters pig he is a hampshire barrow named Cookie but I think that the way he acts sometimes when he goes on his walks I think Cookie Monster sounds about right. Cookie goes much better for me now...but I don't know how he will act with my sister is walking him my sister is older then me and yet Cookie might go worse for her because he knows he can get away with running and turning back to his pen I am not mean to him but he knows he can't pull anything with me because of he does it is more work for him like if he turns and runs back to his pen I take him out and make him walk good if my sister is walking him and he runs back to his pen she will just be done with him and he doesn't get walked so then he learns he can pull that with my sister.
but when I first started training him he would run back to his pen but now he knows he will just keep coming back out until he would go further then 10 feet away from the pen but now he can walk down the driveway and the dead end road that is just part of our driveway and Cookie can do that without another pig with so really I think my sister ruined him in the first week of training.
