Ok Alex. Not sure what talking "cbbq" really means, but I was talking out of my vent. Is that the same thing?
Cbbq= Chinese Blue Breasted Quail
But the vent talking is good Joe! LOL!
Jojo, looks like you had a great hatch there! You should post the silkies too! I sent Jojo extra silkie eggs with her quail order
I'm almost afraid to think of what vent talking is..
But do have a color question..
Joe, you mentioned wild pattern white and English /Range pattern. What's the difference? How do you tell them apart?
Alex,
It was a great hatch. Funny thing, the only baby of yours that kept a leg band on is a Tux, and It's one of the few that stand out in the crowd and didn't really need a band.
The silkies are just little dolls! I will post some pics a little later, took some last night, and need to get them in the puter.
I'm anxious to find out what the colors are. I think the one is black. but not sure.

The great white debate is HUGE.
The difference is...one WHITE comes from the WILD pattern, and the other WHITE comes from the RANGE pattern. It's next to imposable to tell the difference, by visual inspection. Well, seeing wild patterns in their darker regions can be a clue, but you may never know for sure.
Short of DNA testing, one can cross an unknown white with a double (Brown, wild pattern) (Vanilla) bird, and if it is a wild pattern white, then you should get all wild pattern brown birds. If it is a range pattern/ true English white, then you will get some sort of mix, but the pattern should be RANGE.

Maybe she'd changer her mind if she saw how cute silkies are.
Or a little Serama. I have one of those too.
My hubby enjoys all these birds as much as me. I raised them for years before he even came along.
He helps socialize them. When I clean cages , he gets all the babies to keep an eye on. LOL!
Chrishel~
I have tons of Quail too.. you can keep both. lol...
I don't know for sure if its a blue. I know she sent some blue eggs. I'm waiting on her to say what I have. This is the first she will be seeing them. They hatched the 5th, but my camera was acting up.
