I had a silkie for a while as a teen. Long story, but we borrowed her. I remember she used to follow my dad around the yard and he loved her. He was sad to see her returned.
But my housing is such that I would want to keep chicken and quail next to each other so that's not really bio-safe. Possible, but I don't want to risk it. So the silkies will stay in my dreams. Unless I can convince hubby to build something outside... (I'll keep dreaming...haha!)
This is a silly question, but do silky roos sound the same as normal chickens when they crow? They look so unusual, a silky hen could barely pass as a chicken under all that fluff.
