I have baby chicks in my house. We have chicken wire over top of the tote and I sat a bunk bed ladder on top so they can’t get out. Well I didn’t know my niece moved the ladder so one of the chicks got out and my dog attacked it. She got a good bit of the chicks tail. It’s bleeding a lot. I have no idea what to do? Can anyone tell me? Is she going to die? We got her about a month or so ago and I think she was 3-5 days when we got her

You may have to separate the chick from the others so that they do not pick her. I wire divider would allow her to see the others. Apply an antibiotic ointment, keep flies away from her, and hope for the best. If there are no skeletal or internal injuries, chickens can heal from such injuries. Good luck.

I’m holding her currently wrapped in a towel. Can I use any type of antibiotic cream?

Do I just use neosporin? And can she still have bedding in the tote?

You can use plain neosporin, plain triple antibiotic ointment, just better not to use one with any pain medication in it, no 'caine' in it. Keep the wound covered in the ointment, reapply as needed. Until it scabs over it's better to use clean bath towels or puppy pads to help keep bedding from sticking to it and help keep it clean. Just change them out as needed.

Okay thank you!! Once it scabs over can I move her back with the other chicks?

Once it's not a risk of being pecked and opening back up. Chicks will peck at anything, particularly if it's red, so caution when reintroducing, you don't want it to get reinjured, maybe worse. As it heals the feathers may cover it making it less noticable, but you will need to watch, make sure it doesn't draw attention.
