Hiya, my seemingly healthy buff cross chick seemed fine for a few days but now seems to have taken a turn for the worse. She lies on her back and twists her head at weird angles. She was fine and walking a day ago. I don’t know what to do or what happened. She is 5 days old.

Kaida,
We saw something similar to this with a chick in Turkey last week. Where do you live? I am wondering if it is the same thing. It was a dark colored chick like this also.

it looks like wry neck. Try and get some vitamin E capsules (this strength) to give to her. 1 capsule a day. Along with some chick booster water. Can she eat and drink?

I live in England... although my room is very warm as I have both ducks and chicks in there at the moment

So do I!

It is a vitamin deficiency that causes neurological/malformation problems. It is not the temp or anything you did wrong

Thanks for your help... she’s not looking good but I’ll try my best and keep you guys updated... I’ll give her daily vitamins

I had to syringe feed my chick with wry neck recently but he didn't survive.

He was only 4 days old. Try and help it but know that you may not be successful.
