So I heard my new baby chicks hatched yesterday screaming for a while, so I went to go check, and I find one of them with a bleeding head and closed eyes. I have no clue what happened. They wher wwith some older chicks but they are bantams so they should have been okay. Only one is hurt and the other three stents paying any attention or screaming. I have some pictures:

I'd separate them from the older chicks just in case. Slather that head with antibiotic ointment (without the pain relief) and keep them isolated from the rest until it heals up. Might want to put electrolytes in the water for extra support as well.

I separated them right away, but would something like polysporon do the trick? Do you think they Are okay to be with the other three new chicks?

I'm not familiar with polysporon. I wouldn't keep them with the other chicks unless you can put up some kind of barrier between them as chicks will peck at the redness of the head, which at best will slow healing and at worst will lead to more significant damage.

You must be Canadian like me! I read in another thread on here that Polysporin is fine to use - it's a topical antibiotic. Just be sure not to use the one that says +Pain Relief.

Ah! America's Hat people. Thanks for clearing that up!

ETA: Just in case it isn't clear, that's a joke. I've got much love for my northerly neighbors!
