I have this 3 day old ampenzeller chick and it's kinda lethargic and when it chirps it has this small crackle noise. No drainage out of the nose. I put rooster booster in water. Is there anything I should do? The lady that brought them to me I think had the out of a heat source for an hour and no food or water. I attached a picture of its poo

it has this small crackle noise.
Crackle noise is moisture in the lungs in my experience.. essentially drowning by accidentally inhaling water at some point (I have caused it when dipping beaks).. It can be really hard for them to recover as they struggle for every breath it can be exhausting.

Presuming it didn't hatch with other respiratory disease issues from it's parent flock as many things can pass through to the hatching eggs.

Proper brooder environment is about the best you can do, making sure it finds the heat. Make sure it's connecting with the feed. And also that he steps up and moves when brooder mates bump. If it stops moving out of the way then special arrangements need to be made to prevent trampling.

Rooster booster is a brand that has many products. Some don't mix well with water so I prefer mixing into moist feed. Is the chick actively eating and drinking at times? If it isn't drinking enough to get the supplement in then it might not be helpful (we have ways to share if needed). How many other babies did ya get that seem more okay?

I hope your little one pulls through! :fl

My temp is 96 in one corner and cooler on the other end. I'm using game bird for food. He will go eat for a little bit then go back and lay down. I do dip his beak every now and then. But he was doing the crackle when I got him.
