Baby chick has swollen eye! Help!

Today. It looks awful but it is healing some.
Put some neosporin in it lightly. She is now actually blinking her eye some. Wish I could post a video. It looks mangled so I think her sisters picked on her booboo to get it to this point. She is eating a ton and hopefully healing every day!

Poor little thing.
Eating and drinking is good

You may want to give her a slight boost by providing some poultry vitamins in her water for a few days and add a little chopped egg or tuna to her chick starter (all of mine LOVE hard boiled egg - I usually give it as a "treat").

It sounds like you are taking care of the wound very well. I don't see anything too concerning. Watch for thick pus and odor - which would indicate infection.

Thanks for the update.

Update! Well this morning it looks like infection. Yellow puss in corner of eye. I called a vet to come see her. He presicrined Terramycin and said she might have to have surgery in a couple weeks to remove the bottom eyelid that is hanging if it doesnt fall off on its own. She is acting fine and hate this booboo has been so awful. The hanging "meat" part appears to be drying up and hope it falls off naturally.

Also, I gave her some boiled egg last night as suggested. She loved it!

I'm glad the vet was able to see her and give you some medication.

Please keep us posted.

UPDATE! Scratch (that's what I named her) is doing great. The Terramycin the vet gave us is working wonders. The vet said she will most likey have to have the lower lid removed as it pertrudes out from her eye a bit. She cannot close her eye all the way but the nictitaing eyelid helps keep it moist and clean.
And today she decided she wants to fly up on my shoulder and snuggle! I truly believe she knows we did the best we could for her!
Thank you all for your kind and helpful advice!

Congrats to you and little Scratch Vikki! I'm so glad she is doing well. I have a hen with a slightly swollen eye myself and just treated her with the ointment. Terramycin is one thing I always have in my cupboard for the chickens in case someone ever has eye issues. I hope many blessings come for you and Scratch
