my newly hatched RIR chick has splayed leg so I thought just to make a brace and they will be fine. However after splinting its leg and making a brace out of straw and rubber bands it keeps falling over. If you balance her, she closes her eyes and then falls over, peeps a bit and then stays there with her eyes close. the right side of her body has feathers that are hard and sticks to her body. Her body is also trembling a bit

Currently giving her vitamin water but she wouldn't drink for herself and I'm currently using a syringe.
she hasn't eaten food or pooped up to now.

what do I do?

I had a chick recently display some of the same things, but not shaking and refusing to eat/drink. It was in a lot of pain from a slipped tendon. Only one leg was affected.

Or is your baby just weak?

I think my baby may be weak. He still isn't standing still. keeps falling over. I keep giving him vitamin water and he has improved drastically. I just would like him to stand up and not over balance. he is trying to stand tho but again keeps falling

is there something I can give him to strengthen him?

Pics would help.
How old is chick...in hours or days?

Was it a rough hatch for this one? It may just need some time to build up those legs. One from my last hatch was given plenty of time, but couldn't hatch on his own due to the head being over the wing. When he got out, his legs were red and beak bruised, the first day was spent hobbling, but he was seeking out food and water along with his hatchmates by midday. It took him 3 days to be stable on his feet. If you are seeing steady improvements, I wouldn't be too concerned. They do have a food supply from absorbing the yolk so it might not be immediately hungry, but keep an eye on em' regardless.

I cant remember if he was the chick that sped out of his egg or if he was the one who pipped and took a while to come out. Im posting some pics. Still isn't standing and I have to hand feed him water and food

Hes chirping really loudly when he falls over but I just want him to stand. He was born Saturday 11th January. My country doesn't have the Nutri drench so im currently giving him vitamin water(no iron), bcomplex, vitamin E, starter feed and Gatorade. I mix it into a thick paste and he eats that.

If anyone can help me right now, I will be grateful, Thanks
