me too! i've always liked that name! i don't know why i never named one of my girls that. i would name one of my new chicks that, but then that would not go with all the other names. i feel like i'd have to change everyone's name then....lol!

I tend to get to know my critters before I name them, as I like to give them names that suit their personalities. It's probably a good thing that I never had human kids, as I would've been the crazy lady with a nameless three-month-old infant. "But, he hasn't named himself yet!"

At any rate, thus far only one of my girls has an official name - sassiest Dominique is Miss Thing, because she's a ball of feathered attitude. My biggest BO is starting to look like a Mrs. Beasley to me, so I may be down to twelve nameless chicks soon.

So, were I naming in sets, here are a few I'd consider using. It'll quickly become obvious that I'm old.

I have a Silkie pair (Wu gu ji is their Chinese name), so the cock is Wu Wi, she is Wu We, and the little ones will be Wu Wu's.

She laid her first egg today, big and soft-shelled so it broke. Yesterday I thought she was a gonner, as she was staggering around, wings hanging, panting. I got antibiotics and got one down her little throat (in 4 pieces), also got a little MMS down her, and she was lying on her side, legs jerking, panting heavily all night. By this morning she was sitting up, legs under her. At 2 pm it was time for pill #2 and guess what, I found the egg! Weird! She's still quiet, but can stand a little. I must say that for a little bantam it was a big egg! So was she sick or just in labor????

So weird!

We had a pair of guinea pigs (or maybe it was hamsters - the first thing to go is the mind) and when we were trying to come up with a name for them, my (then very young) DS said "How about Pregnant Teenager?" Come to find out, he had head that on the Maury show (which I did not allow him to watch!)
