I have a 2 week old salmon faverolle that will not stand. She was fine when we first got her but now, even though she is alert and eating, will not stand and is not thriving as the others. She is much smaller. I am trying to determine if this is contagious and treatable. Any advice is appreciated!

1) Salmon Faverolle, about 2 weeks old (she is much smaller than the others)
2) She was very sick, almost dead until I was able to get electrolytes in her. She bounced back, seems alert and will stand, take a few steps then lays back down.
3) She's been doing this for 5 days
4) I have 1 other salmon faverolle and 2 black australopes in that bunch and the others seem fine.
5) No signs of injury or trauma.
6) When we first brought the chicks home we did not have the right heat source and I think they got too cold, we lost one. This one seemed to be going down the same path (lethargic, liquid stools) but I was able to get the temperature right and give them all electrolytes and probiotics. All perked up but now she will not stand.
7) I feed them all medicated crumble with electrolyte/probiotic water and have given them a few hard boiled egg yolks.
8) Poop looks runny
10) I'm trying to determine if I should call the vet or if this is something I can treat on my own. Should I separate her from the others?
12) I keep the chicks in a brooder with hay shavings (meant for chickens)

Can you please post some photos of the chick and her poop?

Have you looked at her legs and feet - any swelling of joints, indication of splay or spraddle leg?
Does she act cold - always under the heat source? What are you using ?

I would try to get some vitamins that contain B2 (Riboflavin) into her.

@Wyorp Rock She does seem to have swelling of her joints. I tried the bandaid method for straddle leg yesterday and today with some improvement but not enough. She falls to her side and sometimes even onto her back. Yes, she does seem cold and always under the heat lamp. I am using the red heat bulb and am keeping it at 90-95 degrees. The vitamins you recommend, are those chick specific and where can I purchase them?

Thank you!!

Do you have photos of her, the legs and swelling?

For vitamins you can use human B-Complex (found at walmart, cvs, etc.) I would give 1/4 tablet daily for her size. Crush up and add to her feed or you can dissolve it in a small amount of water and syringe it into her.
A poultry vitamin that I know contains B2 (Riboflavin) is Poultry Cell. You can find that at stores like Tractor Supply or online. Give 2-3 drops twice a day.

Joint swelling is concerning. Slipped tendon comes to mind, can you feel the joint to see if the tendon is out of place.

The article below is helpful if it's splay leg, but I've never seen joint swelling with that, nor have I had a chick develop splayed leg after it was doing fine for 2 weeks. Usually you see that at hatch, so I do have to wonder if something else is going on. What's are you using in the brooder for bedding?

I too have a chick 2.5 weeks old that is in similar however, eats, drinks, poops fine. I separate her from her mates for most of the day - they are in a big brooder so she's separated by chicken wire so they can see her. I put her in with others for feeding but also have her own food/drink. I'm not sure if she's just lazy, or what but she can stand and walk but prefers to sit. She can flap wings. Her legs seems skinny. I did give Rooster Booster (vitamins and such) but will get some B1 as noted by others. Generally she seems fine but will continue to separate her for a week. My concern is that she won't be able to hop to the roost when it's time. Good luck!

Can you post some photos?
Which rooster booster vitamin do you have? Got a photo?
Look on the ingredient list - you want B2 (RIBOFLAVIN).
Most rooster booster products have b vitamins including B1 (THIAMINE) as well, but both posts I made in this thread said B2.

.@Wyorp Rock - the Rooster Booster I have has Riboflavin (B2) in it - 32mg. Thoughts on continuing to use this stuff, or go to strict B2 only? The Brand is Rooster Booster (R) - says on label: "Vitamins & Electrolytes with Lacto Bacillus." Here's link to my post from yesterday/Wednesday: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/baby-chick-not-standing.1361070/ - similar situation as to this original post and hoping your insight can help both of us - thank you!!!

@AppleMomma65 you recieved good advice on your thread from @Eggcessive I would follow her instructions. The Rooster booster should be fine to give.
