My 15 little chicks. The three Golden Laced Wyandottes are 2.5wks old and are from a feed store, the rest of the chicks are all from a local hardware store. There are 3 Buff Orpingtons that are 1.5wks old. The remaining chicks all hatched last Wednesday and are 3 Light Brahmas, 3 Buff Brahmas, and 3 New Hampshire Reds. All are supposed to be pullets, but I won't be mad if one turns out to be a rooster, as long as it is nice. I am a teacher and intend to bring the chickens into the classroom occasionally, so personality is super important to me. The Wyandottes are named Victoria, Catherine, and Eleanor (Eleanor is on the perch and is the friendliest one of all, she is also the one in my avatar pic). The Buff Orpingtons are named Kara, Cassidy, and Brooke. The only one of the rest with a name so far is a fat little Light Brahma named Gertrude. If anyone wants to help me pick names for the rest I am open to suggestions. Probably will go with other old lady names for the Light Brahmas, female bodybuilder or superhero names for the Buff Brahmas, and redheads with attitude names for the New Hampshires lol

Got 6 more babies on Friday! 6 little australorps to go with our 9 gold laced wyandottes

I tried to put them in with the bigger girls who are about 2 weeks older and they tried to peck at their feet so I had to take the babies out and make a separate brooder for them

Meanie wyandottes, will have our pen and coops set up soon and the bigger girls will be going in as soon as they're mostly feathered thank goodness it's basically summer here I haven't had to use supplemental heat at all for any of the chicks they've just been raised with natural temps on the back porch

@Misneachfarm, I named my Buff orpington Buttercup. You could also name the buff orps dandelion or daffidol or popcorn or sunny. Buff orpingtons are so friendly.

Then you have to name one of the redheads "LUCY" ...

Ohh. I thought u were asking names for the buff orps

No, haha, I figured with "Buff" in the name I would name them after really buff human ladies. I do Crossfit so I named them after Kara Webb, Cassidy Lance, and Brooke Wells, who are some of the buffest athletes in the US, but all are really nice people as well.

haha!! I love brooke for a buff, so cute.
You will love them sooo much. Buttercup is the friendliest in my flock.
