In the Brooder
I got my chick leg bands in the mail today so I just put those on...I have decided that the Buff Orpington with the green band is Kara, the one with the blue band is Brooke, and the one with the purple band is Cassidy. I like Lucy for one of the New Hampshire Reds, think I will go with Emily for another (after Emily Abbott, another Crossfitter but one who is hilarious when she commentates at events and is a redhead) - still need 1 more redhead with attitude name for the remaining New Hampshire Red, 2 more old lady names for the light brahmas, and all 3 names for the Buff Brahmas.
Kara exploring - any time I put my hand/arm down even if it to try to catch other chicks to put leg bands on, she immediately hops on - not sure if it's friendliness or if she is just a curious cat
This is Brooke
So far none of the youngest chicks have shown any inclination for climbing on me, but they are just one week old, so I'm sure some of them will get friendlier.
I am thinking of starting a mealworm colony for the chickens out in my garage, I have heard chickens really like mealworms and they are crazy expensive at Petsmart!

I lost 5 in 4 days! I had to big of a space and so the heat wasn't staying in there and it was cold, cause it has been raining for 3 days straight! So yesterday i moved them into a smaller space, and there in our dining room until it gets warmer outside!
now there happy!!
