Well before we knew our girl Snow ha died we went and got two RIRs today. About two weeks old. So though my boy cried a LOT of tears over Snow we also have had some amazing giggles over what he calls The Chicken Scarf.
At what age would you say your chicks are no longer chicks...?
Here are my two girls anyway, a GLW and Coro Sussex - they're 10-weeks-old today.
First time out of the coop and she did this within a minute.
I'd say she was soaking up the sun, but it's getting past 30 degrees C out and she doesn't generally seem a fan of the heat...
And these are my partner's two little girls, about...well, we're not sure. Maybe a week/week and a half old?
There's a big difference between being hot and soaking up the sunshine, I think. After a long time without sunlight, my chickens seem eager to soak up every drop of sun they can get, regardless of the temperature.
And as for your question, what age do they stop being chicks? They never stop being our babies
