My Barred Rock would always hop out of the pen to sit in my lap and watch TV with me. But that was before the neighbor's dog got loose and killed her about a year ago. Poor Linette.


Now I'm looking through old pics of my cat when he was a kitten...

My sweetest chicken right now is a barred rock as well. Her name is Sweet Basil, and she likes to fly up to my arm for a cuddle. My last sweetheart was Mrs. Patmore, and my dog got to her. It was awful.

So apparently it'll be several weeks before I can tell if my Buttercup is cockerel or pullet, as they apparently both feather out the same to begin with. And I was so getting my hopes up on Camille's coloring.

It was in the assorted bantams and it has feathered legs. I have another just like it but it is yellow with grey tinting in its back.

I just saw her photo and got all excited cause I too have a chick who looks VERY similar to yours here, and I have NO idea what she is! She is the sweetest chick! Here is a couple pics of her... Mine just has a little less black around eyes and beak?
