You can take some crayola markers and color their feet to help you keep track of who is who. Just avoid red, since chicks like to peck at red things. When I had to keep track of a batch of identical chicks, I marked their legs with a green, purple, blue, or black stripe. That way I was able to tell at a glance who was who and keep track of the chicks who needed special care.I was a little worried that they were pecking at everything but the fermented starter. But I think they've got it now.they look so much alike it is hard to keep up with who is eating and drinking and who is not, but I figure they will learn from each other. They have taken to the Britetap nipple waterer really quickly.

You need the markers not the crayons. The markers should go on easy.Well the crayon thing didn't work out that great anyways. They're feet are part yellow and part black and too soft to color on. I touched the crayon to the top of the lamp and melted a little, got that on my finger and tried to put it on a toe but they move so fast I really couldn't tell the difference. I can't hardly take my eyes off them so I think I will eventually be able to tell them apart, maybe.![]()
Plus they have a red light shining which makes everything look oddly colored. But it was an idea to try.
