One week old mixed chicks (from incubator) out for the first time, while little village kitten tries to get my attention. Dog watches from the house.

Hi everyone such wonderful chick pics so I thought I would add mine. Got given 10 eggs to hatch under a broody, 6 small and 4 bigger eggs, 9 hatched 5/6 small (other wasn't fertilised) and 4 big, wasn't given any info on them at all but since found out that a serama roo was used and bantam orps? pics took as babies and at 4 wks old

Chicks 1-5 I believe maybe serama x and chicks 6-9 maybe orp bantys

you can see the difference in size between the little chicks and the big ones in the last pic, the little ones were hatched firs,t all were hatched within 24 hrs.

6,7,8, and 9 look more like roos to me, just by the wing growth.

Thanks I was afraid they might be all roos,

am going to be heartbroken as I can only get a way with 1 (hopefully) and they are just so gorgeous maybe I will have to look at finding some pullets but they will have to be a bit older so they can be without a mum. Very sad and will keep my fingers crossed
