Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

Up to 5 or 6 chicks now. Hard to tell when they're under a broody. I could just pick her up, but I don't want to disturb the ones still hatching. I've been trying to pull the shells out as they hatch so the chicks have room underneath to stay warm. I've had to direct a couple under Nessa because they were "off course". Silly little things. Good thing I'm tuned into chick's peeping, and will wake up to distressed peeps.

I hear you on that, my week old babies REFUSE to go back in the coop at night so mom sits with them on the ground and it is getting cold and rainy here. They have been demoted from the grow out coop n run to the broody box with mama instead of a lamp in it. They werent in the main pen because after 2 weeks mama abandoned her last clutch and the others killed them before I noticed. This way if mama leaves I can raise them myself... And I am loving the auto sexing of the cream legbars

First time raising chickens!! This is half of my flock! I drove an hour to get them from an individual who hatches them. Less than 48 hours old and they are already full of personality

They were extremely sleepy yesterday but full of energy this morning! (top 3 are Ameraucanas, bottom left is a Mottled D'uccle, and bottom two on the right are Cochin Silkie Cross.)

I never ever worry! With my hens I can lift them up and do whatever and I still get 100% hatch rates...LOL!

I just got my babies today from a local guy! 5 Ameraucana chicks. They are 5 days old! Make shift brooder until I finish with their larger brooder!

They aren't sexed so for now we watch at wait!
This one is very friendly! She jumped into my cup of green tea. I am already calling her Clementine.

Jennschics, your photos are so beautiful & the chicks are adorable!!! I am new to chickens; when can you tell what sex they are? Mine are 2 days old so I tried sexing by the wings but i'm not completely confident that I did it right. lol. My Daisy might be Mr. Daisy..Not sure
