Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

"Put your back into it, men! For the worms!":lau

Hahahaha it should be fun to watch I give my older girls big Gatorade bottles! My little ladies will get this tiny water bottle I found. My husband thought I was crazy that I just had to buy this little water so the chicks could use the bottle!

What breed/breeds did you get? Super cute little buggers.

So far the little Brahmas are nice enough. I have a few buff laced polish in there with them and no one is being mean. I can split my coop and run in the future if there are meanies in the bunch.
They were mixed pullets but I think I've narrowed down the breeds to Australorps and Partridge rocks.

some believe the black meat has health benefits, helps increase vigor and what not..so isnt thought of as weird at all just different type of meat......have heard they made great birds for stewing... so I guess it's about the flavor as aposed to meat amount
some ppl say they can taste the diff between pullets and cockerels.. and prefere hens over cockerels something about the cockerels having some kind of bitterness to the meat or something.. I have never noticed such

Hm, well, no one's slaughtering my silkies once I breed them!

I don't understand that. People may need some hens, so just taking them all so you can have better meat (even though I doubt it's even true) kinda sounds greedy.

LOL That's funny, why are people crazy for buying things for chickens? It's like saying someone's crazy for getting their kitten or puppy a toy!

Australorp are my very favorite breed. I looked at the partridge rock pics and am trying out some this year too. I got 6 and am hoping they turn out pretty and lay nice eggs.
The Ausralorp were very hard to come by this year. Sold out most of the time.
Congrats on the little cuties.

What a touching story! I just live Pyrs so much! Do you have any pics of your Pyr with the birds? I have an LGD thread for pics with digs that care for their feathered friends and would love to have your story and/or pics there for all to appreciate! Dogs are so amazing!

I don't have any of the pictures, but my mother might still have all the pictures of her. I'll ask the next time I talk to her! I know we took the ducklings, dog, and son (toddler at the time) to a photography studio to have pictures taken!

Ahh, the truest words of a chicken fanatic… LOL!

I (might) be guilty of buying too many treats, cat toys, dog treat holders, and creating trapeze acts for poultry. -cough- Might. :plbb

Aw! Cute little baby! (Looks like a rooster) I'm sure he/she will grow up to be beautiful! I didn't know chickens liked bells so much...I'll look into that for Easter gifts;)

Isn't he/she cute! Is my first flock, so I have no idea if all chickens like bells, but mine love them!
