Only got 5 of the 6 I ordered but they seem to be doing great. In love already !! 2 golden buffs (is that an Orpington?) 2 leghorns and 1 Rhode Island Red. Rir is the smallest but she is in charge already. Coop will be named "lights, camera, EGGtion " girls so far. Leghorns are Snow White and Finn mc missile (named by my son!), rir is Katy perry and one of the buffs is Goldie Hawn. One more name to be decided!

Yes, she was very vocal on the ride home. I think she was lonely and cold. Got her in the brooder with my other two and she went straight to the warmest spot and passed out. Just checked on them and she was wandering around. Made sure she was drinking and eating and not getting picked on. Being a full bantam and a week younger she is much smaller than the other two. They seem to be taking to her though. Caught her cuddled up under them before I left the room.

I have been doing a hatching project for an elementary school and I have been putting younger ones together with older ones. I love to watch as the very young snuggle under the larger, older ones as if they are the mama. What amazes me most is that the older ones, one month to as old as three months accept the babies without problem, even in some cases grooming and caring for the babies as if they were the mamas!

Two of my first d'uccle hatchlings. I got a mille fleur hen and mixed d'uccle rooster in trade for silkies. Apparently the rooster is throwing mille fleur and black mottled. The parents are overly white, so they won't be show birds, but they are very sweet and make great pets. The chicks are very tame
