Oh my goodness, the variety is amazing! Love those breeds. My speckled sussex are my friendliest.

The top picture is my Black Croad Langshans, About 3 week age difference. Bottom Cuckoo Marans. Hoping for Cream Legbars, Russian Orloffs, and Black Copper Marans to hatch next month. Maybe more pictures soon!!!! fingers crossed.

I like to give new hatched chicks sips of yolk water it makes'm strong first 3 days.

I have heard about mashing up a hard boiled egg yolk and mixing it with their feed. I will most likely do this.

Hen solo and Sparkle, I know Hen solo is a roo, and sparkle may be also. they are 2 weeks apart.

Really cute story, last night I heard Sparkle churping a distressed churp. I came running up to see what was wrong. I checked his food and water,Sparlke was fine, but he was looking into the next brooder, (full of younger chicks, I have chicks in side-by-side brooders with wire in between so they can view each other.) When I checked the younger chicks I realized I had removed their water but not put it back and they had not had water for about 4 hrs. Sparkle was complaining to me the younger chicks needed water. I thought that was cute.

I'm not sure what breeds they are, they're eBay eggs, supposedly breeders choice mix of her purebred pens but they weren't labeled. I have six, 3 black and white, one yellow/buff mottled, one wild type, and that one with feathers on the legs. It's going to be fun watching them grow up! Very excited.

A couple weeks ago my Silkie Roo died. Since I didn't have a male I sold my girls. Today my first Silkie hatched out of seven eggs I had of my girls in the bator, 6 more eggs to go with scattered dates. Next will be on the 2nd and every other day until all hatch. Candles them and all look good. This little bugger hatched during lockdown of 100 courtnix eggs I set today. The rest will go into lockdowns of 70 mixed chicken eggs/80 courtnix eggs due on the 5th and 10th.
