Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

They supposed to be production reds. Its a pretty big hatchery near me and they do have over 300 breeds of birds. These guys were on sale and my wife decided to get some. Though im trying to find time to drive there myself see what they got. Id like to get some turkeys.

one of our 20 day old chicks just got pulled out of the goose pond, "its ok its back under mum", they said, i wonder about my family sometimes,
went over to mum and she got up to show me the cold drowned rat under her, hardly able to walk, lots of distress noises as i carried her into the house and got the hair drier out, she didnt want to get off my hand first of all as i expect i was her only heat source but after a few minutes of blowing her wings then her back and holding her up to get air flow on her underside she quietened down a bit, but looks like someone on a bad hair day, her back feathers are fluffed up and her wings arent as well kept, they seem to be low and quite wide but she did flap them, put her back in the run and she ran straight to mum, who after a little look, crouched down to allow her to get some warmth. im hoping after a warming a stretch and a bit of pruning. her feathers will be back to normal, lets hope she gets through the night as she seems to be running ok and isnt as vocal as she was. i dont believe they just left her wet and cold,.
So long as she's healthy I wouldn't worry. She is going to molt those feathers at least a couple of times before she's full grown

LOL You can't. What breeds are they?
This is our EE batch. 2 roo's (green streaks on head to mark them from cackle hatchery.) and 6 EE pullets. I ordered five, but they sent a spare.

I'm expecting 3 red sex links, 3 polish crested, 3 blue cochins, and 2 white silkies from mypetchicken here in a couple of weeks. I'm kind of hoping they don't send me too many extras on that order, because will end up having to make a much bigger coop for everyone (I was planning on housing my batch of EE seperate and then throwing in 2 of the blue cochins, and 1 sex links, so if both roosters survive,t here's plenty of hens.) And my outside adult chickens already have 4 hens, and a red cochin rooster. (I thought he was mixed, but apparently he's not. LOL) The rest will go with my older flocks that's already outside... except the silkies. They will be house chickens in my daughters room for her 4h projects. She's so excited about chickens wearing diapers. O.o

both cocks crowing got me up at 5.15 stupid oclock this morning so i went take a look see, all chicks out the nest.
they all seemed happy before bed last night they were all sitting in front of mum with one with its head under its wing pruning, i assume that was the one that got wet,
they all running round the garden now and i cant tell them apart from a distance so all is good.

Welcome to chicken ownership. My BA usually starts singing about an hour before it gets light too. My coop is far enough from the house that I just hear him. I tend to wake early anyway, so I actually find myself listening for his first notes! Kinda tells me everything is alright. Glad to hear everyone is doing fine.
