It's amazing how addictive raising chicks are. We intended in the beginning to have ONLY four. Coming back from San Diego, we passed a Feed Store and of course...stopped. We ended up with two more chicks, two Bantams 3 weeks old. The sad thing is we have it out there at our local Feed...silkies. Our yard will be busy for sure.

What a neat idea. Great shots of them growing up! Really showing those barrs on week 3! I love the barred rocks. I tried hatching some blue barred rocks, but only had two make it, and one was a pure black..no spot. The gal said she had been trying for a solid black, but never could get one, and of course, I wanted a barred! I also got a blue, but this blue isn't getting the barrs, which I knew could be a possibility when breeding with another solid.

Thanks! they turn 5 weeks tomorrow and of course have grown like a pound since their last pic! they are almost completely feathered too . i love the bars too . the variations amaze me - its like ZEBRA chickens
