Moving 15 hours away

If you want to move with your chickens by all means do it! It is not too difficult at all as long as you have a large enough vehicle.
I moved 4 chickens 20 hrs from LA to Seattle. I was by myself so only drove during daylight hours. See pics for my set up. I put a sheet over their crates to keep it dim. Honestly you wouldn't have even known they were back there (or their dog brother)! They were quiet and content.
I stayed at 2 different AirBNBs that had yards and gave me the ok to bring my chickens. So they got to stretch their legs at the end of the day.
Good luck!

It’s doable but I urge you to have everything set up when you arrive at the destination. Is that possible? Having them go into their safe housing right away so they can destress and get used to the new environment will be really important for their brains and bodies.

Well we all give advice from our own coop. Starting over, is not that hard. Creating a quick coop and run IS hard, especially 15 hours away. One either has to haul the building supplies or try and get what you need with unfamiliar stores. And that is if the building goes perfectly, which in my experience it never does. And predators love exploring and testing out quickly hobbled together coops.

If you sell these to good homes in similar climates, that would just be a relief. You don’t worry about stressing each bird, or what to do with a bird that does get sick or die while on route, Then after you move, well you can build exactly what you like and want. And maybe get some different breeds, try something new.

That’s my 2 cents. I keep a flock of chickens, love having them, but over the years, birds come into the flock and leave. I have had to start over due to predator attack. It is just part of the hobby.
