Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

Here is my 4 BR's and my 4 RIR's at three weeks today. Yipee.

They are so much cleaner and easier than their counterparts the ducklings LOL (love them all though)

Still having trouble telling them apart. So have names but not named individual birds yet.
Need a bit more time to figure out personalities.

From 2 days old to 12 weeks OMG the babies grow fast. They are Amber Sex Links and we've only named a few since they look alike, only one has a bit of color on the wings.

Chunnel the welsummer

Friday the Ancona

Feburary the Salmon Faverolle

Ria the Brabanter. she has a slow growing Mohawk.

Costa the Brabanter her Mohawk is growing super fast.

They hatched July 18, here they are on the 21st I think. A week or so old... and now, this was my only marans that hatched. Her? name is Furball. Still can't decide on gender. Hank, my only roo. They are 9 weeks old. Sometimes they roost, sometimes they still pile up in the nest box  The others are EE mixes and all have the muffs and beards. I love their fluffy faces!
We have a hen that is black and grey just like the one u have pictured with the chicks. What kind of hen is she? We have been trying to figure out what ours is!

We have six babies: three Amerucanas, on RIR, one Barred Rock and a Cukoo Maran (thought she was a BR, too!) This is my first time raising chicks and I love it!

We just got our chicks and are new to this. Lady I got them from said they are Marans but at this point I wouldn't know the difference. I'm realizing there are ALOT of breeds!!

From my research I'm thinking the only "true" Black Copper Maran is Chatter because he has fuzzy feet. I could be way off.

I would be curious what you guys think!

Our two new Light Brahmas right after we picked them up from the feed store (about 1 day old)

The following day, happy with their new mommy (3 year old Buff Orphington)

Now 4 days old, out exploring with mama:

This is only my second time having chicks, so the first time with a hen mama. It is so unbelievable cute to watch.

My two new hatchs from my hens and roosters. One one if from Black Bantam silkies and one on right Rooster is a Silver sebright bantam and hen is a Mille fluer D'uccle. I am not sure what the one on right will look like once it is bigger! Hmm now the waiting begains again! :)

Baby update! Updated photos of the 'babies', more like gawky teenagers now I guess at just about 6 weeks. I only have 6 chicks but they already sort of split up into two little cohorts. These I call my 'Three Chickateers', cause they are bold, brassy, and ready for adventure. First out of the tub, first at goodies, and first into trouble (like ticky-tacking across the living floor first thing in the AM:). Nimbus got big! Pretty sure s/he is building up towards roodom, but can't tell by the neck feathers yet. Maybe a Mottled Cochin? S/he reminds me of a golden eagle, only smaller, much smaller. Gold, whose best side must be her her golden fuzzy-butt, cause it is her most common photo shoot. Buff Cochin? Cumulo - mmmmaybe a pullet

, not many neck feathers yet, though what little there are seem to be more rounded. Barred Rock. Now the other three I call the 'Chicken-chicken' bunch, cause they are always last to the goodies, last to want to go outside, and last to want to go back inside

Silver (Sebright). I am hoping this one turns out to be a pullet, but I guess with this breed I may not know for weeks still. S/he poses really pretty either way. Copper, pretty sure s/he's a Partridge Cochin pullet. I sure hope so. She is the most chicken chicken of them all. Cloud - definitely a roo-boy! Silver Penciled Cochin? Close? He is small and something of a mama's boy. But beware, those small, shy, quiet ones can grow up to be insecure, and therefore get mean! (Elmtree, yes, the little Sebright is very photogenic, even when he isn't trying

) ((Darn, my updated pics are so small!!! Gotta see if I can get them bigger

)) OK, last try, with a big picture of most of the little flock
Here's my little Sebright now at 12+ weeks.
