Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

My Chicks!

This is J. Not sure about sex? Either way, J is my buddy!

Group huddle.

This one is just too cute.

Here is a nosy one.

Chicken selfie, photobombed by a barred rock.

My first batch, 2 silkies and 2 frizzled cochin bantams. Taken today at 1 week old, the black cochin in the middle has cross beak. Started to show at 3-4 days of age and seems to be getting worse.
It's energy level is still good and likes to eat and drink a bit, I do wet their food so it can grab it easier.

I have frizzle cochin/bantam/NN the black and white behind the brown looks like yours minus the cross bill. the thing that is bad about a cross bill besides eating, is they have a harder time keeping clean.and it put pressure on the brain.

This blue bird was a cross bill. sweet bird and he was not so much cross in this pic, but got much crossy-ier as he got older finally I put him down.. yours is starting out much more crossed than he did. I am sorry. good luck with your birdies!

Asthma is now the ONLY thing that is stopping me from getting in the car and going to get some chicks. LOL

My babies have started hatching!!

First out. Mom is wheaten ameraucana. Not sure of daddy.
so cute!

lol, only 3 weeks. From the beginning this one has a temperament which seems very "cocky" to me. Strutting, and being more assertive. But you never can tell, could be a bossy hen :) I hope it is a hen, I really wanted this breed and it's the only one.

Often times there is one Bossy Betty in the mix. My BA is named that for that very reason. Sadly she is the only one I can get this year. DH decided he likes all the other chicks to much for me to sell any extras. The only reason I bought the extras was TO sell them. Sigh I guess he likes having a very colorful flock.
One of my Brahma's is getting kind of bossy too. It is very common at 3 weeks since that is when they decide who is in the flock and start doing the "I am the boss... NO I am the boss" thing.

This is my first set of chickens, so I clearly have no experience determining the seX lol. BA is the breed I really wanted and waited for, I hope it's a great hen :)
