Our first-ever hatched at home (by hen) chick. Father is a Dominique. Mother is either Black Australorpe or RIR. Hen pictured was the incubator. She's teaching the one-day-old how to eat.

We are in the middle of hatching right now. The broodies have 2 more unhatched eggs and we have 5 in the incubator, due to hatch tomorrow. Here are the first 3 to hatch with their two mommies! Mommies are bantam orps and the babies are large fowl orps.

Sadly the little yellow/lavender one was killed by a possum, along with a blue chick not in the pictures. We still have 6 left though, the chocolate one eats a lot & is obviously a cockerel now at almost 4 weeks.
