Yep! Pretty lil guys.

Yep! Pretty lil guys.

I got them in an auction for .25 cents a bird at a week or 2 old. So we mixed them with out 2 week old baby chicks.. We have a total of 18. So far 3 silkies, 2 barred rocks, I think 12 are RIR's and I don't know of the last two haha

So I am having my 4 week old barred rocks out to socialize with them. They have only been out for 25 mins. One took 4 runny craps on me. Do This mean he is sick? Or do baby chicks just poop a lot like that?

I usually socialize them for 5-10 mins each because I have 18 of them... This time I've had the barred rocks out a while because I want them to be nice and as great as people say they are.

I only wish I could have found a heating pad that wouldn't auto shut off... I would have loved to use one. However, the first one didn't come as advertised and wasn't returnable. So, we're stuck with a light. So excited though, as I got the horizontal nipple set up and they seem to be doing fine with it! :)
@mekidsmom Have you seen this thread? https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/956958/mama-heating-pad-in-the-brooder-picture-heavy-update post #15 has a link to a heating pad that has a mode so it will stay on

Serious question. In the photos I posted. Do my babies look sick or I'll-like? The coccidioss or whatever it is Called I am freaking out. Maybe it's just paranoia. But I really don't want to lose all of my chickens. This disease in researching is freaking me out

They look healthy to me.

Stupid question. You said there cucoo, does that mean they are males, I want females! Lol

I ment Cuckoo Marans the breed as a whole. They're a really dark egg layer. I'm not sure how to sex them at such a young age myself, I bought 1 at a feed store, supposedly a female. The other one I hatched myself and I'm hoping for a male to cross with my Ameraucana and Isbars
