Are leg bars the ones that if there's a spot on its head tells you if it's a boy/girl?

I bought this little guy from a Buchheit's where the workers knew absolutely nothing about chickens or anything, really. And they had like 50 little chicks in cages that were way too small for how many there were in each cage, and they were all freezing. And they let little kids grab them and stuff with no supervision so of course, dropping them.
Anyway, he was in a cage of assorted chicks labelled "pan fry".
Anyone have a guess on his breed?

You might want to post in the "What Breed Or Gender Is This" section of BYC.

Cute!

He is probably a Cornish Rock. We see them at the Tractor Suply all of the time. I always try to rescue them but hubby says I have to stop.

Where can I post for do's and dont's when it comes to 4 week old chicks? I have a quick question as to what they can eat. I want to try and give them a egg bagel. Is that okay? Of course I'm going to give them a small price uncooked. Plus I don't know what thread to post it under

Hi! New here, but thoroughly stalked many BYC posts to help me learn and research and educate myself before starting on my chicken journey. I have my first batch of chicks, almost one week old, but here... I'll let them introduce themselves:

My name is Rose, (as in the Golden Girls). I am an EE pullet.

I am Ethel, a Barred Rock pullet.

My name is Lucy, I am a Buff Orpington pullet.

Hi, I am Lacey, a Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet.

And last, but not least by any means, I am Goldie, and I am a little bit of a mystery, but likely a Golden Laced Cochin Bantam, and hopefully a pullet, but time will tell.

I am loving them! They are all sweeties. And most have grown in their first flight feathers already, and some glimpses of their tail feathers also. I have 2 more chicks coming later this Spring to complete my starting flock for a total of 7. Happy to be starting our chicken journey.
