Baby Chicks!!

We just bought 25 baby chicks yesterday, restarting our flock after a three year break. (Believe me it was a well needed break..)
Anyways, here we have the adorable stars!!

Satoko -- Supposedly a Bantam.

_______ (Help naming?) She's a White Brahma

Sugar and Lil Peeps --- Rhode Island Red.

Penguin --- I forgot what she was.

They're all healthy, minus the one that died last night..

Here is our new baby chick, the daddy is bufrf orpington and mommy is black astralorp. So pretty. Don't know this early how to tell if boy or girl!!

How can you tell? I have had chickens for 5 years now and can't tell. But now that we are getting fertile eggs from our hens, we will need to know. Except for this new chick, all of our chicks we have gotten from southern states. Her daddy was supposed to be a she, lol. He kept getting bigger so I posted pics here and said, is this a boy? Because he didn't crow till he turned one. So he is the only rooster we have for 13 hens. We also have 12 more chicks that are 5 or so weeks old. Who knnow for sure if all the pullets are all female. We will see. That is why I am trying to find a way to tell if they are male or femaie. If you can explain how, I would appreciate it!! Thanks and shalom.

The comb seems to be more pronounced on male roosters when they are younger and the females are just the opposite.. Unless they are the odd ones out, this method has proved 90% effective for my previous flocks.

OK I'm new to this! We have lavender pure bred hens and 1 pure lav roo! 2 hatched out yesterday and monday! My question is why is 1 dark and the other a silver/Grey color when my chicks are pure bred and we have no other breed?!?
