baby chick stuck in egg.

I have just hatched buff's and I have a chick stuck in the egg its beak is stick out of a hole. I can see the chick is alive and fine, but the chick has been like this of 2 day's and I am worried that it may be stuck in the egg. Should I help the chick out of the egg or let it be???? Help or not the help???

Hmmm. That's always a tough question. I won't tell you what I think YOU should do...I'll just tell you what I would do if it were me. I would carefully, slowly and meticulously try to help by chipping tiny pieces of shell back and then tiny pieces of the white membrane so as to reveal the layer where the veins are. If there's lots of blood, I stop b/c they need to absorb that and if it is torn, they can bleed to death.

ty of the info got the chick out of the egg it's fuss was stuck on the egg shell and there for could not get out of egg. Chick is resting and glad to be out of it egg. Just hope he make's it he has been in the egg for 2 days stuck.

just glad the pore little thing is out of it's egg. We started hatching egg's and used 4 dozen and we have 29 chick's.

I neglected to mention that I was "helping" a little one out of her egg at the same time you were!
