I bought 6 baby chicks today from TSC..noticed this little one had this large bald bump going on....the other 2 black ones have the same thing only not as bald and not as big...the spot is not red or raw...does not seem to be bothering her at all..and the other chicks do not seem to be picking on her...any ideas as to what it could be?

Poor peanut. It looks like it is rite where the top of a full crop is. I agree with feather plucking. i wouldn't worry to much about it unless it starts to look red and others are pecking at it.

I agree with the feather plucking... I would be worried if it was only the one, but sice all of them have some, they will be fine!

I also will add in: HELLO FROM MAINE!! Yea!

I know it is sooo funny. They will run around in the rain all day but as soon as there is snow they want nothing to do with it. You can see there little heads poking out the door just waiting for the first one to take a step.
