baby chick

i have recently taken in four new chicks whom are currently living with my ducklings. i have raised chicks and ducklings in the past, however i have never ran into any major health problems. two nights ago while handling my new chicks i noticed that two of them had raw, red bellies and were losing their baby feathers to the point where they are balding. it looks painful and sore.. they also have a few small bare spots on their back. i have not noticed a pecking order at all .. not sure what it could be! maybe lice or mites??
