Feeling the need for some group support. Just accidentally killed my baby chicks ¼
Integration with the pullets was going well and today is day three of a few hours in the big coop with the ladies who are 6.5 months old. Around this time every day I move the coop it rolls quite well along the grass and the girls move along happily with it. Well the babies have done this move for the last two days. Today they started out moving along nicely then stopped and with the motion of the coop I wasn¡¦t able to stop in time and they got squashed out the back of the coop. Both DOA thankfully as their injuries from a squash like that would have been too great to be able to fix. Now they are in the freezer for bin day. I feel like a really bad chook lady right now.
After this am checking on Holley and Emily to give them a treat and some cuddles now their future sisters are gone.
When we all get over this I think I may just stick to pullets¡K..
