Baby Chicks....2 Silkies....? a Polish....and a Mystery!!!

Helloo

Gosh this baby chick rearing has it's ups and downs...our numbers went down a bit as we lost one and then had 2 boys....but somehow when we returned the boys we managed to come home with 4 new babies! eeeeeek this hobby needs to come with a warning! Seriously addictive!!

So these wee beauties are now 2 weeks old...pooing and growing like crazy too

I know it is waaay to early to guess on sex but do you think the wee black one is a Polish?? Difficult to get a good photo but she has a white patch on her bottom and some cute wee white tipped tail feathers starting to come through

Any ideas on Selena....she is very pretty her wings are growing fast and she has adorable hairy feet with big feathers....some kind og pekin/cochin perhaps?

Just thought I would share....we all love baby chicks right?!?

Kids picked out the names....Disney Channel & Harry Potter have a lot to answer for

That looks like a polish or some other crested breed...
all the others look like cochins though

What kind of comb does Selena have?

If she has a single comb (small straight serrated line), then she's a Cochin (Pekin) or a Cochin cross. I would expect to see a little heavier feathered legs for a Cochin particularly down the middle toe. If the comb is wide and flat with something like 3 small ridges (one might be more prominent) or 3 lines of small bumps, then I would say she is a Brahma or Brahma cross.

What kind of comb does Hermione have?

1 horse, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 85 chickens, and a pygmy goat that is a bottomles pit! I wonder what will come next?
