Awesome! I posted some new photos on the last page of my babies too!Yes, and I absolutely will!
I haven't gotten one, but I checked the order and there was a tracking code! They hatched earlier than expected and shipped out this afternoon. They're in transit now! I'm so excited! I'm also a bit nervous because it'll take hardly any time for them to get to my town, but the post office doesn't open until Monday morning. I don't want them to deliver to the door, but I also don't want them sitting in the post office for a day for no reason!Did you get an email yet @ILoveDaffy ?
I never got one with mine until after I got them, lol. I thought maybe it was my phone but it came in Monday morning.
Oh yay! I like to have my birds shipped to the post office address. That way if you just give the po as your mailing address they can't let them leave on a truck or anything. If you can find the post master's contact info a lot of the time they'll let you pick them up on the weekend. It just depends. I thought mt healthy only shipped Sunday afternoons and Wednesday mornings, I'm surprised they let them go out on a Saturday.I haven't gotten one, but I checked the order and there was a tracking code! Drat, I didn't think of putting the PO's address in. I just put in mine. I suppose that means they'll deliver straight to the house then? USPS also doesn't deliver on Sunday, so do you think they'll leave the chicks somewhere and then deliver on Monday?Oh yay! I like to have my birds shipped to the post office address. Just for future reference, it seems to work well. They'll usually still hold for pickup and call you. They're supposed to anyway. The post office I had mine shipped to called me just after 6 a.m. and said I could come get them. They didn't normally open until 8. So I'd guess yours will do the same. Did you give them a heads up that you had chicks coming? I usually do that too, but just because I don't trust the post office one bit. I was impressed how fast they did deliver my chicks though. How far are you from the hatchery? I am assuming they'll get there sometime tomorrow and call you Monday, but they could call you tomorrow. I just don't know. The lady at my local post office is super nice and will let me in pretty much whenever. But the post office in the next town over is a pain. Just depends on who's working there and when. Regardless one and a half days in a box is pretty good compared to most. Though I totally get it's silly for them to sit at your post office half that time.Drat, I didn't think of putting the PO's address in. I just put in mine. Thank you for telling me about all this! These are great tips for next time! I thought about calling, but I had an unusually busy past few days and didn't get the chance. I'm about 2 hours away from Mt Healthy. The chicks hatched and were sent out early, which is why I'm a bit nervous. If they'd hatched and shipped Sunday as planned, they wouldn't have had to spend as much time at the post office. It will most likely turn out fine, but ordering chicks in the mail is a new experience for me, so it's been a bit stressful as well as exciting. I've waited about a month for them to hatch too, which added to the anticipation.Just for future reference, it seems to work well. They'll usually still hold for pickup and call you.
