Post office called early this morning so me and the youngest daughter went to get them. We got them in their 4 week home in our basement before we move them out to the coop. The brooder is 4 feet by 8 feet with a 250 watt heat lamp in one corner and a momma heating pad adjustable set up. I think we are good to go but I have one question. Do I need to provide another light source jist for the chicks to have daylight?

You can see in the pic of the chicks under the heating pad, the light that is given off by the heat lamp. But this was with the overhead lights in the basement on. When the main lights are turned off, the light from the heat lamp is more noticeable but it is a red lamp.

Here is the light in the middle of the coop with the overhead basement lights off.
