Baby chicks are scared!

I moved them back and they immediately resumed to eating and drinking. They weren't moving at all in the large brooder.
I don't know... the heat was fine I have a thermometer.
But they are still super loud, I feel like I just really stressed them out for no reason. I guess I'll just put them to bed and hope tomorrow they are back to normal.

Chickens don't like change ever, even when they are older. Next time when you place them in place them right under the heat lamp so they know that is where warmth is. Then you may want to tap on the water/food dishes until they know where those are too. They are going to chirp and be upset for a little bit but should settle down.

Be prepared for when you move them to the coop. They will more then likely be pretty upset about it once it gets dark and those little peeps can be heartbreaking.

I agree with most of the above posts in that it sounds as if your chicks were cold. I moved my 11 day old chicks today from their first brooder into a brooder where they can stay for another month or so, and they quieted down within 5 minutes. I am in Florida, where it is 90ish degrees outside and I moved a heat-plate with them (they have no interest in it, but just in case). But they were perfectly happy to be moved. It sounds as if something else (cold?) was the cause of their stress. I also suggest you make a system like the one @Blooie mentioned (or if you win the lottery, you can buy one like this: https://smile.amazon.com/RentACoop-...532224302&sr=8-3&keywords=chick+heating+plate). This method of heating from above is more natural for the chicks and is much safer--less fire risk. My chicks run in and out of theirs, and I know they can always find the temperature they prefer. Good luck with your chicks. They look adorable!

You might want to consider either a heating plate brooder like this one https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B018KIPZTE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Or just make them a little chick cave with a heating pad (make sure it doesn’t have an auto off feature). Mine love to have a quiet(er), dark place to nap. Plus, if you put the stick and seal Saran Wrap on top of the heating plate, they have a whole new playground to explore!
