what is layer mash?

It is just a type of food that is specifically for laying hens. I have an IFA where I live, and they sell regular mash and layer mash.

This is one of my favorite girls, "Sissy". She's a Polish/Silkie mix. The last pic is of her with one little chick peeking out and 6 more under cover!

Im trying to convince my parents that we need to take advantage or our silkie going broody ( AGAIN!!) and have a polish silkie under her.....Is she considered a Frizzle?!?!!?!?
