Sorry about you chicks.
Yes, clean the droppings off. I use a warm wet paper towel to soften the droppings, then gently rub it off.
I agree with previous posters, could you post pictures of your brooder? What type of bedding are you using?
How warm is it in the room they are in?

Could they be eating the sawdust? I’d switch it out for straw or hay or bigger wood chips that they can’t eat. Two warm wet Q-tips are handy when cleaning the vent.

That’s ok then. If it’s not blocking her vent, I would leave it.
Would it be possible to get pine shavings or straw? The sawdust is dusty, plus they could eat it.
Do you provide chick grit for them? I would only give treats if they have access to grit.
Do you think you could get a heat lamp or something similar? I could be wrong, but I don’t think that heat pad is ideal.

Not sure what causes pasty butt, but it’s easy to fix and only is an issue for the first couple weeks. But if they’re eating sawdust without stones/sand to grind it up in their crop they could be getting impacted/clogged up.

I take them outside every day. I believe they are eating small stones etc when they are outside
