Baby chicks, huge crops....

Ok so just got 6 chicks from tsc this afternoon, they just got there today.... Was told a couple days old. After I got them set up I noticed their crops were huge!! Did they just gorge themselves or is it normal in them this young? I have only had week old plus chicks before. And they keep on eating!!!

Yes, they are little piggies. They need to eat a lot. They double in size every week.

i had never noticed this before... is there anything we can/should do to help with this? yogurt or something to help them digest stuff easier/faster?

If their crop has reduced in size by early morning, then there is nothing to worry about. A distended crop at this time of day (i.e. before they begin feeding) is something to look into.
