Baby chicks. Need help identifying breeds.

Funny you should say that Mrs. Fluffy Puffy is very good and she is the one who told me my chick had the wrong colour feet for an EE. It was from a blue egg though and were 100% on that as it was helped to hatch.

You would not believe the problems I had getting the darn thing to stay still for a photo shoot. I do hope this was worth it. - I am not sure it looked exactly like your Sussex chicks mine had more of an Egyption kind of eye thing going on I think!

Anyhow here goes and if possible do you know if its a roo or Pullet? It doesn;t act like the other Roos jury is out here but most say roo? If so we can;t keep it.
So I am hoping Pullet.

Hope this comes out ok and that what the chicks are can be sorted out. I didn;t know alot of chicks looked like that - it is so hard to know what they are at an early stage. I think my chick looked more like the first post No 2 than yours to be honest now I have looked real close at them both your Sussex look a bit darker and fatter! Also I think the eye is not as Egyption shaped! Lol. Blue was a lot lighter in colour.

Oesdog - many thanks to you and Mrs. Fluffy puffy!

Where'd you get it from?

Don;t remember they were bought as eggs through the post. It would have been somewhere here or England, It is the only one to survive. I had eggs from Bertha and Elly and those were back ups but we accidently had the incubator too high and cooked that bunch of eggs so this chick is the only one to survive that. I know that one is a bought egg because none of our chickens lay Blue eggs so it was not one of ours. Sorry can;t help anymore.

Oesdog - It can;t be a ROOOOOOOOOO -

The babies are THREE WEEKS old already! I have to get my camera out and take some new pics, but I'm pretty sure that chick # 2 is a Welsummer. I think Mrs. Fluffy Puffy was right AGAIN. :) The chicks' plumage is coming in darker and she doesn't seem to have the lighter flecks that I've seen on Specked Sussex chickens. The red chicks are definitely RIR's. I'm a little confused with the black chicks. They seem kind of small to be Black Austalorps, but their markings seem to fit. They are smaller than the other chicks. I didn't think that MY Pet Chicken had Australorp bantams for sale. I will post new photo's tomorrow! I would love to get some input.

WELCOME!

I am not at all sure of the breeds. - Mrs Fluffy Puffy is the way to go she is the fount of all knowledge when it comes to this kind of thing.

As for my dear little one. Turned out to be very beautiful Cream crested leg bar

Sadly it was a Roooooooo and we had to find another home for him in the end. He passed away last winter. But what a beauty.

Oes.
