Ok, so we have 4 day old chicks and 2 had a very hard dry poop on their rear ends. I soaked them in warm water and was able to loosen it up and remove it. When I returned them to the brooder the other chicks immediately starting attacking them biting at them. I seperated them and got them dry and now it seems to be ok but is this normal?

Thanks

It is called pasty butt, and you did the right thing.

Getting them dry before putting them back in the brooder will help to avoid the attacks.

The chicken world is a tough world.

I have two right now that have pasty butt I need to get them in the water and soak them for a bit I tried with a wet wash cloth but it didnt help.
