Also roosters cannot have layer feed either - it would ruin they kidneys.

Just wondering when my chickens should start laying eggs I think their about 8 weeks old not really sure of their age I know it went be for awhile just curious

It depends on the breed. Some breeds lay at 16 weeks others at 30 weeks. I have BR and RIR, and they all started when they were 18-20 weeks old.
