Baby chicks.

I’m I’ve just joined on here. I have 4 rescue hens. Plus one that found me so to speak. She was siting under my trailer on a nest, so I moved the nest into a coop for her safety. She uses it no bother and has water & food. She has 2 chicks now not sure on age or sex. She is also sitting on a further 5 eggs, I’m not sure these will hatch now as these first 2 are over a week old I think. Can anyone help with age and sex. I’m new to having hens. Thanks.

Welcome to BYC! Its rare for a hen to continue sitting once the first few hatchlings are over 3 days old. I would candle the eggs and see if any are viable, if they are, you may need to borrow or buy a small incubator. She won't continue to sit much longer.
