Had this happen to a button quail. Took a while to grow in but she eventually healed fine. Hope she turns out ok for you

Must be something in the air...had a 21 day old chicke with no skin on head/neck when I got home midday. Vet put in itsy bitsy staples...Used acryllic art paint to cover the shiny staples and put the chick back in with its Mom...we will see...
